Well, unless that dollar sign means something I'm not aware of, the answer is "Yes."

Europeans and Americans all live in a society that benefits from the intelligent thoughts and ideas of Christians over the past thousand years, give or take a few.

You're probably getting contemporary Fundamentalist Christians confused with Christianity in general.

But Christianity includes Conservative and Liberal Christians, and can also include agnostics (who often aren't sure if there's a Judeo-Christian God, but don't wonder about Allah, the Tao, Shiva.) It can also include Deists for the same reason. Now, fundamentalists would bristle at the thought of it, but in many ways, it is true.

So, yes, Christians have intelligent thoughts. All the presidents of the United States have been Christian, Martin Luther King Jr. was Christian. The vast majority of Western Scientists and philosophers have been Christian, as have the majority of the Abolitionists, the majority of the Army, Navy and Marines who defeated Nazi Germany in the Forties. The suffragettes and many feminists have been Christian. Most of the hospitals in the USA have been built or supported by Christian churches. Many of the Universities have, as well.

Sure, there are some unintelligent Christians, and yes, some of them are pretty loud. But it is not a fair sampling.

We are encouraged to keep our minds open. Have you ever heard of Albert Einstein? He was a one God Jew!! We Christians share the same God!! Would you like me to explain to you the connection, or can you figure it out for yourself?

No, but they can be incredibly condescending all on their own! Aren't they clever?
