The "KARANIYA METTA SUTTA" is good.If you find it too long ;then,verse 7,will do.

Verse 7:
"MATA YATHA NIYAM PUTTAM
AYUSA EKAPUTTAMANU RAKKHE
EVAM PI SABBA BHUTESU
MANASAM BHAVAYE APARIMANAM"

"JUST AS A MOTHER WOULD RISK HER OWN LIFE
TO PROTECT HER ONLY CHILD,
EVEN SO TOWARDS ALL LIVING BEINGS
ONE SHOULD CULTIVATE A BOUNDLESS HEART".

There may be Buddhists who believe in magic like this, but I doubt there are many.

You and your son are separate. You cannot teach peace without knowing it yourself. Work on yourself, and offer loving kindness to your son as you do so.
