I get these extreme migraines from my tooth ache I have right now. I can't go to the dentist until next week so I'm forced to deal with it with any way I can. The symptoms are intermittent (Every 5-10 minutes it starts hurting for about a minute), and the degree of this pain is beyond tolerable.

I wish I would just pass out from being overwhelmed in so much pain. Tylonel or any other aspirin isn't an option since I've already reached the maximum I can take for the day and it has done anything to help anyway. Anyone know if there is something I can do to at least get me to sleep? I'm completely sleep deprived because of this.

It's not going to help all that much, but in addition to using the pain medication of your choice, sleep on an extra pillow to elevate your head. Sleep on the side that does NOT have a toothache. If that doesn't work, you can move to a recliner or the sofa so you can keep your head really elevated. This will minimize the blood flow to the area and therefore minimize the throbbing and pain. This might help you make it through the night until you can see a dentist.

Migraine is a specific type of headache lasting several hours and preceded by visual symptoms of blurring or loss of portions of visual field . It is caused by blood vessel dilation in the brain supply and requires specific medication . Your pain is simply a result of an inflammed tooth nerve or pressure buildup in the jaw from infection . If you feel it is nerve pain ,then a cotton pellet moistened with oil of eugenol would correct the condition immediately . If the pain is due to the buildup of gas and pus around the root end (abscess ) ,then you need emergency dental care which can be obtained thru your local dental society in the Yellow pages .

DR. SAM IS CORRECT. ELEVATING THE HEAD DURING SLEEP, WITH A SOFT PILLOW TO PROP THE HEAD WILL HELP TO KEEP THE BLOOD FLOW PRESSURE FROM CAUSING GREATER DISCOMFORT THAN LYING DOWN.
HAVE YOU TRIED TAKING ADVIL (IBUPROFEN) WHICH IS AN ANTI-INFLAMMATORY, AND BRINGING DOWN THE INFLAMMATION WILL ALSO DECREASE THE PAIN.
