It's true.

I drink tea. I eat Fudge Stripe cookies. But they don't quite taste the same as they did when Grandma gave them to me as I sat at the little Formica-top table in her kitchen.

My fiancee wants to buy me boxer shorts. When I think of buying boxers, I remember the day I was at the mall with Grandma, who showed me boxer shorts with the word "No" printed all over them. She was going to get them for my father ... until I pointed out that there was glow-in-the-dark dye on them that said "Yes." Bless her heart, she let go of them like they were on fire and started laughing hysterically.

When I wanted to attend college 2500 miles from home, my parents said I was on my own as far as paying for it. Grandma, who at the time was an 80-year-old widow living on a pension, offered to cosign student loans for me. I didn't have the heart to take her up on it ... but I went 2500 miles away anyway, and she called me all the time.

I actually put a ziploc bag with a teabag (unused) and two Fudge Stripe cookies in her casket before they closed it.

My grandmother drank a 5th of whiskey every day of her life that I knew her. I remember once we had been out at a restaurant and we all piled into the car after, grandma sitting in the back seat. She opened her purse and pulled out her drink she had been drinking from the restaurant, the entire glass. She said she didnt get to finish it so she took it with her. I doubt if there is anyone else quite like her.
Im not bragging about her, I think it is sad she spent most of her life pickling her body. I bet after almost 30 years in her grave she still looks the same as the day she was buried considering all the alcohol in her.

Completely true, my grandmas were the best people. Amazing wonderful women who could do no wrong. All these years later and I still really miss them.

Can't say that's always true. I just addressed a question by a teenager who was being beaten by his grandma.

It is true there is no one like your grandma. Love her as much as you can and appericate her 'cause at one point she'll be gone and you'll never be able to see her again.
