Two planes, which are 3780 miles apart, fly toward each other. Their speeds differ by 45MPH. If they pass each other in 4 hours, what is the speed of each?

One plane is going 495mph, the other is doing 450mph.

The first two are right but the reason for the speed difference isn't well explained. They must each be going half the speed difference more and less than the average speed. So (3780/4)/2 + 45/2 and (3780/4)/2 - 45/2. 472.5 +/- 22.5 = 495 / 450.

I agree with the above, 495 and 450. Here is why:
3780/4 = 945. That is the total speed.
And, 945 = 495 + 450.
And, their difference is 45.
