He is not eating and will not drink either, he is being sick but has nothing in his stomach to bring up. He is very lathargic and can not settle to sleep for a long period of time. He eat some grass which he just brought up & his stool was loose and dark reddish brown. This started yesterday, I tried him with chicken and rice but he still will not be tempted. What can I do for him?

Take him to the emergency vet now! If money is an issue then the PDSA will help if you take some proof of your income. Some vet emergency services actually use the PDSA hospital so the standard of care he receives will be just as good. Sorry if this sounds a bit patronising but I know all about huge vet bills and how worrying they can be.

My dog once ate a dangerous amount of chocolate and he had an injection to make him sick. He was REALLY sick but right as rain within the hour, but if we'd have left it much longer it would have been much more serious.

I really hope he (and you) will be ok. Good luck.

I'm pretty sure that's parvo. Give him some Gatorade to drink and get him to the vet immediately. The bloody stool will probably be more of a liquid as time goes on, between that and the constant vomiting he will dehydrate. The pedialytes in the gatorade will help him greatly, but he still needs to see a vet. This is often fatal, but if caught in time, can be cured. I had this happen to one of my pups. She started to come out of it a little, but the next day it was obvious she wasn't going to make it. Didn't even have the energy to lift her head out of her urine and vomit, and was obviously suffering greatly, so I put her down to ease the suffering. Then you need to go around with a strong mixture of bleach and water and scrub and spray all the places you know that she has been sick or has relieved himself. Parvo can hang around for years and is extremely contagious. But get him to the vet IMMEDIATELY

Take him to a vet urgently, if his poo is reddish brown it could be an indication that he is bleeding inside and a dog as small as a yorkie cannot cope with that for very long. This is an emergency and needs to be dealt with within the hour. Good Luck.

VET!!!
The dark red colour of his stool is non-fresh blood, this means it could be bad, so you really need to take him to the vet right away, especially if it started yesterday.
Sorry for the bad news, but it has too be said.

The vet will be able to do some tests to find out exactly what is wrong. It is not worth trying to geuss as he could be seriously ill. Could be food poisoning or anything. he could have ate something else that he has picked up outside.

Hi, Phone the emergency vet, see if you can take him somewhere to be treated straight away. He is only a little dog as as he is getting no nourishment and he is very lethargic, and obviously ill he needs to be seen immediately. Good Luck to you and your little dog.
