Have been on a road trip up the A1/A1(M) from Peterborough (although the journey originated in Ipswich) to Berwick-Upon-Tweed. Stopped at about 3 service stations, all of which contained Burger Kings & Little Chefs. We couldn't be bothered with a sit in meal, and by the 2nd stop the Little chefs were shut. My girlfriend is vegatarian, and at none of the BKs was a vegetarian burger available. Why is this? Was it awfully bad luck or is there a decision that veg burgers are not stored?

These corporations do a LOT of marketing research. The results tell them if a product will be profitable or not. If the numbers are there, the product stays in inventory, if not....well.......

Hello, I am from that way...Ipswich...But live in California
You can get a salad from Burger King or a cheese pizza at Pizza Hut. There isnt much choices out there for vegetarians as far as alternative meat.
There are fruit and yogurt parfaits, salads, and you can ask for a sandwich but no meat on it of course. Just bread, condiments and lettuce. What about fish? Burger king has the fish sandwich. But since its deep fried, not very healthy. Veggie burgers are not that popular so it is a matter of supply and demand.

Burger King's slogan is "Have it your way" so ask for it without meat. Get the Whopper with a few extra slices of tomato, minus the meat, and viola! you have a veggie burger. OK, so maybe it's not really a burger, but it works. Ask for it with extra cheese.

Just goes to show you that if you plan a roadtrip, you should plan on packing a cooler with a few veggie options since society doesn't quite offer much.

That's just typical. I too am vegetarian and find that you have the same problem at concerts, shows and other activities. When I travelled to Cumbria the same problem arose. I don't know why they think everyone is a meat eater. Sometimes I have had to resort to a buttered roll (if they have butter) and fries and make a chip butty. Great choose isn't it!!

I always just order a Whopper *hold the beef* with cheese and extra tomato. It's not great, but it's not bad either...always get strange looks though lol.

That's why it's always important to look for a vegetarian restaurant in your destination BEFORE you go.

Try VegDining.com next time. It's a great help for travellers.

i think that it is cause BK wouldn't sell enough to keep it on the menu.........they offer salads and stuff instead of veggie burgers.......remember that its fast food and you take what you can get with those places
