Whether it is a vaginal or C-section delivery, you're supposed to wait until you follow-up appointment. Most generally 6 weeks for vaginal and 10 weeks for C-section.

This is certianly one to check with your doctor on! BUT... the doctors usually say that you should wait until after your 6 week check up (after a vaginal delivery). They want to check to make sure that any episiotomy, tearing, stitches, etc have healed so that you do not risk infection. Above and beyond that... some women may not feel comfortable having sex for even several weeks after the 6 week check up... so you MIGHT still want to wait a little longer until you are completely comfortable. It's possible that you may be sore, or feel "tight" the frist time after a vaginal delivery... so make sure that your partner is aware of this and is prepared to take it easy and gentle with you, and that he will stop if you ask him to.

Did you give birth vaginally or via C-section? If vaginally, you need to actually go see the dr prior to having sex to make sure everything is ok. If it was a C-section - 2-3 weeks.

You should wait until you are completely healed and maybe even let the doctor give you the all clear.
Personally, I was so torn and sensitive that I couldn't for the first 4 months.

Yes...the advised average is 6 weeks. there are a lot of reasons...but mostly it is because the risks of infections. The uterus and vaginal canal go through some serious changes during the pregnancy and delivery...and a woman needs time to heal properly. It is very important.

Until after your six week check up. The doctor will do an exam to make sure everything has healed properly, then give you an all-clear. Good luck!

You have to wait at least 6 weeks until you can do the nasty again with your man. Just give lots of head to your man to keep him sexually happy. I have 2 children and after she gave birth we were so busy with our children that we didn't have time to get it on, but after 2 weeks we started getting physical again, so she gave me lots of oral to keep me happy.

I was told 6wks whether vaginally or c-sect... I don't know why someone said 2 to 3 on c-sect, or 10 weeks for c-sect... I was only required to wait 6wks... Some people cheat and do it sooner though... I'd reccomend to wait though, it's safer that way! Plus it doesn't hurt as much if you wait a little bit longer for it to heal!
