I have many photos that I want to watermark before I share them with others. But am unsure of how to go about do it. I have roxio photosuite 8. but have no idea if that has the ability to watermark a photo or not. What are some good free programs that I can use to watermark photos.

I don't have $29 to spend on anything right now. I need a free program.

add a layer, add what you want watermarked and decrease the opacity.

If you want to add an imperfection such as a logo I would use gimp. It is free and open source and very powerful. You can use it to alpha blend an logo or text into the image.

The install is tricky, I'll tell you how.

Download the package below first and install it. Is the second line.
GTK+ 2 Runtime Environment (version 2.10.6, for Windows 2000 and newer)

Then down load the gimp and install.

The GIMP for Windows (version 2.2.13, fixed installer)
