When I open a new photoshop document, I get little squares all over the background. I know they don't show up when I save the file, but I want a clean white background to work on. How do I do this? Thanks.

I know it reresents a transparent background, but I am adding small text to my picture and it's driving my eyes crazy when I look at it. Can't I make the transparent background appear white somehow?

Thanks to those who answered so far.... still looking for a solution, though. :)

Those little squares just represent that there is no background

If you like....create a new layer and fill it with white (edit / fill ) then just tuck it underneath your image layer

just don't flatten the layers until you're finished or the image will be merged with the background layer and you'll have difficulty making adjustments.

Little squares on the background represent the transparent color you don't need to remove it.

If you want a different background than transparent just draw a box and color it.
