should i buy a new ms office installer cd from market or i should simply copy them from pc of my friend

It is your choice copying to most people is illegal especially to microsoft. But I have used copied MS office from my aunt and then from 2003 from Gnutella for the last few years. Or get the freeware version OpenOffice.org.

You do not have to use illegal software. There are thousands of free software applications available. Get OpenOffice. This award winning office suite is compatible with MS and other office suites.

Also try UBUNTU. You can actually run it from a CD without installing anything.

Installing it (1) places values in the registry to let the operating system know it's there and (2) lets the vendor know so as to get a handle on whether you're running a pirated copy and whether you qualify for maintenance and support. Sometimes there's code built-in to the software to check out whether it's been "installed" or not and to gripe or give you a hard time or even block itself if things aren't okay. It's a hard life bein' a program.
