If you're eating HEALTHY.... no chips, candy bars etc. and if you are doing at least 30 minutes each day.... you may loose inches.
Weight?... it all depends on what exercises you're doing.
I've been going to the gym since January 1/07 (every day except for Sundays.... gym's not open on Sundays) and I'm due to get weighed in & measured on monday, but when I got measured at the end of January, I lost 3.5 inches and lost about 4 lbs. That was 1 month worth of going to the gym 6 days a week and eating light meals and lots of salads.

If you eat right and exercise enough, you can expect to lose 1 to 2 pounds of fat per week. But when you weigh yourself it can vary within 2 to 3 pounds so don't get discouraged at the end of one week if you weigh the same. Keep up the exercise and eating right and weigh yourself in 1 month and you will see results.

It all depends on the type of exercising you are doing. Many people think you have to kill yourself with exercise to get fast results. It is all about balance and finding the proper gradient for your body and I stress for your body.

The basic assumptions:

Muscles weigh more than fat.
Muscle tone increases fat loss.
Fat loss is done through sweating and other bodily functions
You need to drink plenty of fluids to help flush fats
Proper amount of sleep helps the body release fats
A balanced diet helps the body to function properly
Bad stress causes your body to hold fats

The trick here is balance and finding the proper gradient for your body. If you push you body to fast it will go in to shock and slow down weight loss. For maximum result you have to tailor your exercise amount and schedule to strengthen your body without breaking down the muscles too much. The more you hurt your muscular system the longer your need to recover.

This is the misconception: no pain no gain. Pain come from pushing yourself to much or too fast based on your current level of fitness. Believe it or not a person taking in the proper daily caloric amount only exercising 3 to 4 times a week with a proper balance between aerobic and strength training could loose body fat faster than the exercise fiend working out everyday multiple times. Not mention the pounding of the body is not the healthiest action to take. You can only start from where you are. Based on your now body determines your course of action. As your body changes it creates a new current starting place.

WEIGHT LOSS IS ALL ABOUT PROPER GRADATION AND CONSISTENCY.

You are not training for the Olympics here. You are looking to loose weight and reduce you body fat content thus mass to be healthy and look good in clothes. If you focus strictly on losing weight that will work against you. Losing weight is an “In side job”. The mind controls your body. You control your own mind I hope. Given all these consideration you could loose up to 5 pounds a week safely.

Exercise alone will not make you lose weight. When you exercise a muscle, the muscle becomes stronger. Muscle is denser than fat so you are actually gaining weight. To lose weight you need to eat less food. Try fasting one day per month and drink only water on the days you fast.

as long as you don't eat so much you take in more calories than you burned exercising. don't lose more than 2-3 pounds a week, but you might lose more the first week or two.
