Do NOT get another.
If you can not handle it financially and with your amount of time, DO NOT.
Puppies are alot of of work, so if you really don't want to deal with it, I wouldn't.

Tell her no. Your dog is okay being an only dog, and you really need to work on Spicy's training before bringing a new dog home. Believe me! I've learned this from experience.
Plus, you said you go to school. While you may only have classes three days a week now, what about next semester? What will you be doing when you graduate? If you move, will you be able to find a place that allows two dogs?
For now, you have one dog that you seem to be happy with. This is YOUR decision, not your cousins. Dogs are perfectly fine being alone a few hours a day. Two puppies left alone can be very destructive.
I think you answered your own question when you said "...that alone is telling me its a bad idea." Be happy with Spicy, and maybe consider a second when you graduate and are more settled.

Honey. You answered your own question. Tell the girl you are a responsible owner and therefore you're just having the 1 dog. Spicy is all you need and want. Suggest that this girl should look at the welfare of her Dog and get it desexed too that way she won't have to worry about finding homes for each littler. Now for your Puppy being possessive of you. Stop that behaviour PRONTO! it will cause major problems later with any partner or even friends. If you want to know how to deal with this just go to a dog web site that deals with behaviour. just type that in lots come up. Remember she is will become anxious and aggressive if this isn't sorted.
Your Spicy is a dog not your baby please don't make the mistake of spoiling her like she is.
Don't let her sleep in your bed, be on the couch with you, feed her the same snacks you have etc. some hints. Both children and dogs need boundaries.Ciao Lynda

As the owner of a 15 month old and a 9 month old puppies, and I have had these too for about 7-8 months now, let me tell you that having two puppies at the same time will do your head in. I wouldn't do it.
I have to tell you, I've never heard of a dog being aggressive after being spayed. You mentioned that she is possessive of you. Your dog is just plain out dominant and you're letting her be. Bringing another dog home will likely end in a fight or just an uncomfortable home until you become master of your house.
I would work on turning the dog you have into a wonderful, happy, stress free, healthy dog first before you bring another one home. Lots of exercise, obedience training, dominance training, rules, those things need to come before another dog.
Good Luck.

You already answered your question. The verdict is NO. Do not get the other dog. Thank the person for thinking of your poodle but you are not ready or want another poodle. Tell that person that your happy with the one she picked and couldnt possiblly want another. Dont give in. You dont have time or the money for a second. Spicy if she is like her name, will not be happy or accept this new one, with out alot of support and training from you. Doesnt sound like you have time or energy to do that. Spicy is already having problems you cant address those problems AND Train a new puppy at the same time. Sounds like disaster. Please for the sanity of you and for little Spicy. DONT get the other dog.

I wouldn't add another puppy until your girl is 18 months or older. I never let someone have a Dobe puppy if they have another puppy. Also you should give all your love into the first one right now, make sure she is trained to your standards first because puppies will feed off of each other. Your girl still has a year before she matures into the dog she will later be.
Also your dog is dominant over you, you need to curb that now.

Honestly you need to think logically before making your decision. Yes the puppy might be cute and nice for your current dog to have someone but you need to think about the time, finances it will take, vet care etc... then you can make your decision. As far as them getting a long, you could take them to local obedience classes together and they will show you techniques of stopping the possessiveness of your current dog.

it seems to me you have is a hand full with the one you have, aggression doesent come from being spayed, her being possessive of you and the aggression go together, sounds like she is the boss not you.if you can go to obedience training, get some advice to help fix her behaviour first. if shes only six months old now things could get worse, i dont think its a good time to introduce another puppy to "her pack" untill you have made it "your Pack"

I think you have answered your own question lol! If you truely do not want another dog, nor can afford it, then the answer has to be no. You will only regret it if things go wrong or become too much of a struggle.

JUST SAY NO!!!!!!!!!! Don't let others intimidate you into making a bad decision for you and that puppy, there are plenty of other petless people out there for her to push that puppy onto, but you could take it as a compliment. She ovbiously thinks highly of you and your puppy parenting skills or she wouldn't want to give you another one.
