This would have been an entertaining fight to say the least. Both Manny Pacquiao and Carlos Zarate had tremendous power and excellent speed. Manny, however, primed in heavier weight classes. Zarate fought his whole career in this division. Manny didn't spend much time in the bantamweight division as he stepped up to fight Lehlo Ledwaba in junior featherweight. Manny would have the edge in speed and chin. Zarate, on the other hand, would have the edge in power, defense, and stamina. Both men had equal heart.
As strong as Manny is, Manny's power will not be as strong in this division because his punches are more potent in heavier weight classes. This fight will obviously not reach the distance. Both fighters have a sluggers mentality, as their records will attest. I will not be surprised at all if both men hit the canvass. I ultimately think, though, that Carlos will close the show by the 11th round. Carlos had too much experience in this division. His body has matured in this division and is used to all kinds of punishment that the division can offer. It's his division to rule.

Hey Brent this would be a pretty good matchup. Out of today's fighter's I have a lot of respect for Pac Man as he is a very skilled fighter. Zarate was an amazing puncher during his career with an incredible knockout percentage. In this fight Zarate would definetly press the action but would get tagged with some good shots from Manny that would get his respect. This would be a fairly close fight but Zarate would get the nod due to his harder punching and making Manny back up. Zarate would win 8 rounds to 5 for Pac Man with 2 even rounds for the unanimous decision.

Zarate was a knock out artist. Pacquiao moves enough that he probably would survive. I would give the decision to Zarate though.
