Find out what your common interest are and use that to have a topic. Don't fake that you know what he's talking about though, because he will see right through that and then he will just think that you are fake, boring, and not his type. If he starts talking about something that you don't know about say, "really, I have no clue on that sort of thing..."

U should talk about whatever the situation dictates. What is around u? What u just finished doing? What he is doing? What does he do with his spare time and vice versa? Talk about the things that u talk about with your friends only do it with the intention of drawing him into the conversation more. When talking to friends u usually do it just to say what u did or what u think. With a guy/girl that u like u should do it with the intent of getting them to jump into the conversation and contribute alot more than u r.

You should talk about regular stuff.About just stuff going on because its not like we want to talk about sports all the time.So just be yourself because if your not he is going to fall in love with the fake you not the real one.
