It wont make you fat but its likely to make you hungry...you will be producing lots of extra stomach acid.

It will make you alot more hungry so you could be eating for the wrong reason. It also adds bad stomach acid which is unhealthy. It also makes you go to the toliet alot more and if you arent having enough drinks per day then this wont really help with your digestive system. When you have a chewing gum you are producing alot of spit that you keep in your mouth because you cant swallow the chewing gum. Therefore the only thing you swallow is the siliva you have created which can make a lining on your stomach which isnt good for you. It wont make you fat but isnt going to help you u be healthy and can also make you hungry so instead of reaching for a chewing gum have some fruit or even just a drink. Sometimes when I feel hungry I wont be hungry I will be thirsty so when i feel hungry I always have a drink instead.

Also found that a lot of people use them for slimming because of it eats away at your digestive system. So it wont be causing you to put on weight. But may be damaging your digestive system and you could get an ulser.

HI! The benefits of chewing gums are usually underscored by traditional medicine. But actually, some researches indicate that it is good for exercising the jaw muscles. And may I suggest that you choose the gums containing xylitol, since it is the most effective in maintaining a basic pH necessary to protect your teeth from the development of cavities. Finally, I think that everything has to be done or taken in moderation. 20/day is quite a number, so it's for you to decide.

The chewing gum is great as it is sugarless but you shouldn't need 20 peices a day. Chew only one piece at a time and chew it for a couple of hours before you chew a new peice. Why waste gum but spitting out so many pieces or using more pieces than you need. It stimulates saliva production which is good and it gets your jaws moving.

I wouldn't imagine chewing gum would make much of a difference but i think 20 a day is too many as excessive consumption can cause a laxitive effect.

They do have calories in, but not many and they are certainly less than most things you could chew. However as it generally says on the packet they contain Sorbitol. This is a sugar which tends to pass through the bowel. In quantity it may in some people produce diarrhea.

My nutritionist made me stay off chewing gum.She reckons they contain toxins, plus as you chew they give your stomach a false sense of eating, thus making you hungry.Having said that,i still chew gum.It certainly wont make you fat but that amount is pretty excessive.
