depends, do you appreciate wine, or do you just drink it for the hell of it? If you appreciate it, I would definitely sit back and enjoy it all by your lonesome. There are no distractions or anything that would hinder your experience. Of course, you could always share the experience with another wine aficionado, but that's totally up to you. If your just drinking it for the hell of it, save it for when someone who might appreciate it could share it with you.

Merlot? Syrah? Yes, but get some cheese and crackers ready first. Apple, too. It all makes the wine better.

If its a good $10 - $15 wine.... then yes. If you drink a more expensive wine alone then you would be a wasteful alcoholic. Don't mix up vices! Have fun!

If you don't have anywhere to go, why not? Having a glass or two of wine by yourself does not make you an alkie.

Hmm. It's still morning where I am (west coast) and I wouldn't care to drink red wine in the morning, alone or not. Where's everyone else......?

not if you feel you have a "problem" with alcohol. drinking alone sometimes isn't a good idea.

if it's like a really NICE bottle of wine -- like so nice you want to keep it all to yourself because you don't know of anyone who would appreciate it as much as you -- then sure go ahead and savour every bit of it.

if it's just a bottle of concho y torro or something you picked up from Aldi's -- then no.

I'd at least wait until dinner to make a good meal to go with it. Or at least good take out.
