Just tell her how you feel about this. Explain to her that your other friends are allowed more freedom and that you would like a little more. You will probably not get as much as everyone else, but she will definetly loosen up a bit. Some stuff she will never change her mind on, but the two of you can compromise on some of the other issues. Agree to show her that you can be responsible in turn for letting you act more independantly.

Definitely let her know how you feel about it. Some parents are very strict and uptight because they fear what may happen to their kids. So maybe she won't change her ways. However, you are 18 (or almost 18) so once you are an adult, you should make a plan to move out. If you are going to college, live on campus. Otherwise, make a plan to get a full time job when you graduate and get your own place. Problem solved!

Just lay it on the line, tell your mom you are not a child but a young woman and will no longer tolerate being treated as such. If she does not let you spread your wings you may have to do so for your own sake against her wishes.

Parents are that way. Moms know you are going to be an adult ,soon.. And she knows you be on your own. So she wants to hang on to you as long as she can. Because she will not be able to protect you, or watch over you. She's afraid of what might happen to you. All parents do, who care about their children.

Well, I can see your mom really loves and cares about you. She doesn't want to see you get hurt. If you feel that your mom is treating you this way, you should sit down and talk with her about it. When you talk to her, don't do it in a hostile way, but just have a nice, calm, child to parent conversation.
