Anyone (like 5 cents) asking such a question is obviously a student of Christian religious history.

It is curious therefore that he must have done at least basic research and learned that "reincarnation was banned and prohibited by the 5th ecumenical council in AD 533".

I'm further confused as to why anyone would want to waste time discussing such a topic when such a myriad of others that affect our daily life, are on the table.

the bible never made mention of reincarnation, read the book of psalms 37:1-40 and see where does it say anything of reincarnation people were created to live on the earth end of story

yup

also....reincarnation is something to do while waiting for the messiah to come and resurrect everyone for eternal paradise of the world to come here on earth

:-)

actually....reincarnation is just a way to allow people a chance to meet positive mitzvot...positive commandments, so that they have something to send on for judgment in the world to come

when we die all our sins are forcibly (and probably painfully) removed from our souls

this forcible removal of sin can leave a soul damaged and weakened....which is why we aren't supposed to sin, it weakens us....

but, we have the opportunity to do mitzvot, positive commandments...and that strengthens the soul, and helps repair any damage you are doing by sinning....

but let's say a person never does any positive mitzvot (commandments)....that means that they haven't added to or strengthened their soul at all....and thus, when after they die and their soul is cleansed of all the sin they could be left with a soul that is to damaged to go on to the world to come....and that is when their soul is sent back to earth to be reincarnated....it's a chance for the soul to live again and this time do the positive mitzvot that will add to and strengthen their soul!

most people do enough positive mitzvot that they have something to send on to the world to come after the cleansing process.....so most people aren't reincarnated....

but for those that didn't....then yes, they do have a second chance

Reincarnation is the denial of the simple fact, that this is what we are, and we are responsible to God. There are no DO OVERS!
