I'm 16 and I'm getting them in a few weeks. People older than 30 and 40 get them. It's completely normal. Don't be embarassed. It's better getting them fixed now than in the future.

I have braces and got them at the age of 38. I had to get them to correct a bite problem. It was either braces or surgery (and then braces). My son is 16 and had braces at age 11 for 2 years. My 14yo daughter needs braces but won't get them until she begins high school this fall. So the answer is you're never too old, it just depends when you need them and whether you (or parents) can afford them. I've even heard of people in their 80's getting braces. Some people who have had braces as a teenager will need them again later on. I speak from experience, make sure you wear your retainer after you get your braces off.

I will be getting my braces here in a few weeks and I will be 24 soon. There is nothing wrong with getting braces at your age. Don't feel depressed. Your friends will be able to tell you all the dos and donts of having braces and plus when its time to get them off, you will be happy at the outcome of your teeth. I wish you the best of luck.

I got my braces at your age, when I was that age and didn't get them off until I was 17-18, my mother and my grandmother had them in their 30's and my mom has them again right now and she is in her fifties. LOTS of people have been older and have had braces so don't worry about it. It's a natural thing and don't feel bad at all no matter what anyone may say to you. My father also had them when he was in his twenties. Oh and the whole retainer thing, it's life time that's why mother mother has them now in her fifties she wore the retainer but only for about a year and then she stopped and her teeth shifted. So think of all those people who aren't wearing their retainers (like me) we're all going to have to wear braces again in when we're older.

don't worry hun, I am 24 and I'll be getting them soon. I never had the opportunity as a child, so now as an adult I am getting it taken care of. I figure that I'd rather have braces for a couple years and have straight teeth than to have crooked teeth for the rest of my life.

I'm a freshman in college and got braces my senior year of high school to correct problems my first orthodontist didnt correct....i had them the first time from 8th grade-11th grade. Make sure your orthodontist makes your teeth perfect, you dont want to have to do it again like me.... and wear your retainers...i know from experience that it keeps your teeth in place
