The ford fiesta TDCI will make a good choice if you are looking for a comfortable ride and good fuel efficiency.It has one of the most refined diesel engines available today.However the engine isn't very powerful and performance oriented.It will take you ages to get up to speed.
The huyndai verna has a powerful and performance oriented engine but is a bit noisy.
The indigo has a comfortable ride but has a poor build quality

Your monthly run would be around 1400 km max which is less if one wants to go for diesel car. The price of diesel car is more by 70,000 to 90,000 rupees compared to petrol in same variant. If petrol lxi is = 4L thendiesel ldi= 4.7L minimum The running fuel coast in petrol car is more by 1.5 to 2 rupees per km. So to offset 90,000 rupees (more paid for diesel car) one will have to drive 45,000 km to 60,000 km.But by that time one will change the car. So its not at all beneficial to go for diesel car if monthly running is less than 2500 km. So in hatch back category suggest to go for petrol swift,ritz,punto and UVA. Survey with best dealers of your city and find the on road price of all cars considering the discounts by dealer and corporate discounts and take your own decision.

The fiesta TDci since your'e travelling more than 40 km daily. It gives superb mileage of about 15km in the city and 20or more in the highway.

Swift diesel of Maruti will be the best as it give very good mileage also and has latest technology available under the bonnet and interior also catchy and modern look and comfortable

i would suggest Ford Fiesta -it has got power and good milage.........it is better than Aveo....you should also enquire about Ford's service
If u can wait a little bit longer ............then u do check on the new diesel version of Maruthi Suzuki baleno,it is one of the most under rated cars just for its looks...........its petrol version has 94bhp and a milage claim of 16kmpl and the ride is very comfortable

Indica is one of the best available. But the best one is Palio Diesel. You will just love riding it. Mileage is also very good. Noise is very less. Trouble free.

All I gotta say...DONT BUY A FORD. They are the worst American Automobile company. I have lost my Ford truck in fire due to Fords faulty parts which they recalled after I lost my vehicle. Stay away from American cars...Buy Japanese make cars.
