Ok, so I admit I'm not fast at shotgunning beer. I've been getting better at it, but I'm trying to find a technique to actually have it shoot down my throat and not swallow. Any tips?

it's all about the reserve/swallow ration in your mouth at one time. Some people can just open the hatch and let it flow, but other need to work off of this ratio. It stands for the amount of beer you can hold in your mouth without swallowing in relation to the amount of beer you can swallow at one time. In the begining, I would do this in like 3 oz spurts. Swallow the first 3 oz down, hole the next three in my mouth while finishing, then repeat until the can was crushed. This also provides a seamless drinking motion to others watching, so it never looks like you stop drinking. Eventually, you can move the amount you can swallow at one time up, and you can shave seconds off your time. Good Luck!

start out tilting your head back abit, and relax your throat, down pour the beer straight down there is a prefer ed angle at an angle so the air doesn't gulg out but pour directly down your throat.
