Being female myself I have to say that 11 is just too young to actually be dating. I know that at 11 you feel like you are old enough, but at this age you should still be having more fun in groups of friends, not "committing" yourself to one person. You have so much more time to grow up and figure out what you really want in a boyfriend, and for the boys to grow up and figure out how to really treat a girlfriend! Have fun with your friends now, and leave all the dating drama for when you're old enough to handle it! You don't need a boyfriend to be friends with boys. And the more friends you have now, the more attractive you'll be later, because more people will get a chance to know you better.

11 really is a young age to be dating and you really shouldn't be trying to ge a bf just cuz everybody else is gettin one. you should wait till you're ready. you need to think about what you're getting into. when you get a bf it's not the same as just havein a guy friend, it's completely different. things happen at a more intamate level, i don't mean sex, just stuff that i don't you're ready for at the age of 11. but that doesn't mean you have to wait till you get out of high shcool, you could get one while you're in high school, that would be the best time. if i were you, i would listen to your mom.

Wow...after high school huh? That's tough. You can have a bf, but I wouldn't let you seriously date. When I was 10-11, I had crushes and sort of gf's. But there was nothing serious since we young. We would go out and do things, but never alone and it wasn't permitted that we would be going anywhere alone. I think you can have your crush without having a bf. You can exclusive with him and be with him while in school. A lot of kids have bf/gf while at school and their parents never know about it.

Good luck

=)

Mom is SO right.

Make a bet with her. She'll take you up on it. Bet her $50 dollars that in 2 years your friends (pick one or two friends under 17, who have boyfriends, whoever you choose) are still with that same boyfriend and they have been faithful to one another all along and haven't gotten pregnant.

Then sit back and see what happens. Also, you absolutely MUST tell her the truth about them, or it's no dice.

actually 11 is too early, it's probably best until you graduate high school. you don't need a distraction in school. you have you whole life to learn about relationships, and people change physically and mentally. 90% of all people from high never end up together anyway.
it'll just be incredibly painful.
Try not to start anything, stop it before it happens.

boys can ruin your whole life. your mom is smart. but i know i had my first boyfriend when i was 10 and i regret it. dont try to grow up so fast...life is long...stay little and away from all that responsabilty as long as possible. date when you are 16. that is a good age

until you know what it means to love and be loved or can accept the responsibility of dating, don't worry about it. Most of the time, all boyfriends do is cause drama in your life that you don't know. I have friends with them and friends without them, and all my friends that don't have boyfriends are happy and do better in school, because they don't have the added drama of having a boyfriend.

Dating because you want to fit in is going to result in a lot of crappy dates and negative feelings. Date when you find someone you want to date, not when you feel peer pressure.

I think it is best to wait I think, especially if your mom wants you too. I have a friend who is sixteen, and even though it is against our religion, he got in a relationship and now his girlfriend, who is only fifteen, is pregenant.
