how long would liver tansplant patient live?

Depends on the cause of liver disease, how compliant the patient is with medication etc. The 10 year survival is probably in the range of 60% and survival for as much as 30 years in not unusual. You can get the exact figures for survival in the US from the OPTN website www.optn.org but bear in mind that the long term survivals we're seeing now were transplanted decades ago. Hopefully we're better at it now than we were 10 or 20 years ago and the patients being transplanted now will do even better.

That would depend on what all the underlying health conditions are,and what the MD's prognosis is.Transplantation surgeries are much more successful,and patients are living longer and enjoying a rebirth of good health. Look at David Crosby of music group Crosby,Stills &,Nash,and one Senator from Pennsylvania,have passed their 10 anniversary.Thousand's of transplant surgeries take place yearly,with great success.Take care.
