A true friend is one that communicates with you openly and honestly. Jesus does this in His Word. He also talks to you during your prayer time (and sometimes just out of the blue during the day - He is not regulated to just prayer times). A true friend will stick with you when your down, when your wrong and even when you don't stick to them. Jesus never leaves us or forsakes us even when we leave Him. He hurts for us, grieves for us, loves us unconditionally and wants to share everything in life with you. He gives us Himself, His Word, His Presence, His authority and power and in turn wants us to give Him our will, heart, soul, self. The one most important factor in true friendship is Communication - real, honest, on-going, about everything, communication. If you do that with Christ, you will find that He does that with you and you will find Him to be a friend that sticks closer than a brother. You will also find that this is the key to growing in your "first love" with Christ.

One of the most important aspect of friendship IMO, is reality. The friend must exist to be my friend.
Another aspect of friendship is reliability. A friend must be available and place the friendship at a high priority.

Jesus is an amazing friend.
"Greater love has no one than this,
that he lay down his life for his friends."
- John 15:13
Jesus payed the ultimate price to have a relationship with you, He left His place in heaven and came to earth in human flesh so that He could sacrifice is life on the cross, so that we can come face to face with Him.
God Bless!

One has to be a friend in order to have a friend. Just care and be Jesus friend and you will one day realize that he is your friend. The only one who will always be there no matter what.

Trust and open communication, the same standards and beliefs. You can be friends without the last two (just not "true" friends), but not without the first two.

Jesus doesn't make such a good friend. He's not nice, he ignores you and he never buys you anything for your birthday.
With friends like Jesus, who needs enemies?
