Three men decided to split the cost of a hotel room. The hotel manager gave them a price of $30.
The men split the bill evenly, each paying $10, and went to their room. However, the hotel manager realized that it was a Wednesday night, which meant the hotel had a special: rooms were only $25. He had overcharged them $5!
He called the bellboy, gave him five one-dollar bills and told him to return it to the men.
When the bellboy explained the situation to the men, they were so pleased at the honesty of the establishment that they promptly tipped the bellboy $2 of the $5 he had returned and each kept $1 for himself.
So each of the three men ended up paying $9 (their original $10, minus $1 back) totalling $27, plus $2 for the bellboy makes $29.

i want the best answer for this.... Ace and xbox has it wrong.... its not a trick with the eyes... im suprised no ones got it... although it is quite confusing....
it comes down to the most simple rule of all..... the math is wrong... remember in school when ur teacher taught you that multiplication and division comes first then addition and subtraction....
well on this question, the wording is a bit off so the math will look correct but is actually wrong...
you cant add, then subtract, then multiply, then add....
ex.
3+4*3=(right anwser)15
3+4*3=(the wording of the question above makes it) 7*3 which would equals 21
the dollar didnt go anywhere...... it has been distrubited out correctly... in total, the men ended up with losing 27 dollars, 25 for the room, 2 for the tip. and three dollar they recieved back.

The men paid $25 for the apartment. The bellboy kept $2 and each man got $1 back.
25+2+1+1+1=$30.

the manager gets it. if 3 guys paid 8 dollars thats 24. then the bellboy gets 2 each guy gets 1 that makes 29. then you still have a dollar left for the bill. remember that each guy paid 8 totalling 24 so the extra dollar goes to the manager.

im actually kinda lazy to explain how the dollar went missing (cause maths and numbers irritate my brain)... but it was never gone... its kinda like a trick of the eye, cause $25 + $3 = $28... yet, $9 x $3 = $27...
