That depends on your priorities and your perspective.

For example, when I was 18, I was getting ready to graduate high school and move 500 miles away to college (although that wouldn't be confirmed until I got my acceptance letters in April). I didn't have a girlfriend or a car, so I saved everything I could, knowing that I'd need it in the fall and that it would add up quickly.

Then again, when I was 18, "loads of cash" meant about $100. If you have significantly more than this, you might consider talking with a bank about opening up a certificate of deposit (CD).

That's the boring answer.

The fun one is to take all your friends out to a club or a ski trip, or buy a car. Get yourself some new clothes, or a fancy new computer.

Get a banking account and save it for college. That way, you get interest which will increase the cash you already have. After you graduate from college, you can make more money which will allow you to live a live without worries about mortgage, bills, etc.
