Like one other person said, contrary to popular belief, the chances of problems are very low. Here is why. Defects from inbreeding are usually caused by the fact that, when people who are closely related have a child, that child gains genetics from it's parents, like any other child. But the parents' genetics aren't very different from each others in the case of close family. So the baby recieves a lot of the same material and can easily end up with a lot of recessive traits from the parents that then show up dominant in the baby, due to getting it twice/multiple times. This is how rare health conditions often show up in inbred children. HOWEVER, between first cousins, there is a lot more genetic material variation than people think, and a baby can end up perfectly normal. The same is true for the farther relations, like second cousins, etc. Children of first cousins usually don't have any major issues (genetics-wise) unless the parents both have the potential for it already. And for everyone saying it's illedgal, it's not; a lot of states in America allow first cousins to marry. I'm pretty sure Kentucky does, though that's not really a point in favor...

It's called inbreeding. Can cause stupid children with defects of brain, body appearance and so on.
The best way to insure healthy children is to bring new genes into the mix. When genes are too similar then many problems arise. I'm all for inter-racial marriage. Not just black and white, but Italian and Jewish, or German and Greek. The genetic diversity makes for healthy and beautiful children.

Well if it marrying alone without any sexual intercourse then there is no problem. But if sexual intercourse is included, then those couple are at a very high risk of passing genetic problems to their kids as the DNAs are too close.

That's first cousins right? If so then yes, there is a big risk of problems from that. I think that by the time you get to 4th or 5th cousins it's not that big of a risk but first cousins i would say definitely there is a big risk - risk doesn't mean it will definitely happen, but the chances are great.
