This is going to sound like a cop-out, but "follow the directions on the package" is the best way to go.
There are slight variances in cooking times for pasta, even among different types of spaghetti. But universally, you'll want to use a gallon of water (yes, you'll need a big pot) for every pound of pasta (one box = one pound). You can adjust accordingly if you're cooking less pasta. Add 1 tablespoon of salt to the water (again, if you're making less than a pound adjust the salt accordingly).
Allow the water to come to a full boil before adding the pasta. Then add the pasta, and allow the water to return to a boil. You'll probably want to adjust the heat from High to Medium-High, so it won't boil too vigorously. Just so long as you have plenty of movement; it doesn't have to look like a volcano.
As I said, the cooking time will vary by type, but the box will say something like "cook for 8-11 minutes". Assuming you've got a constant boil, cook the pasta for the "least" amount of time the directions tell you. The pasta will continue to cook for a little while after it's been drained, AND the sauce you serve it with will also soften it further.
Drain the pasta into a colander (or large strainer), and shake the colander thoroughly to drain out as much water as possible. Serve it immediately.

Fill a large pot with at least 4 quarts of cold water and put it on the stove over high heat. For better flavor, add around a tablespoon of salt after the water gets hot but before it starts to boil. Once it boils, add the pasta and stir immediately. Two ounces dry weight is a good amount per person. So if you've got a 16 oz. bag of pasta, half of it should be good for four people. Depending on the type of pasta it is, it will take more or less time to cook. Keep the flame on high and stir the pasta occasionally to keep it from sticking together. Adding a tablespoon of oil to the hot water will also help with that. After about 10 mins, test the pasta. I test it by tasting a small piece. Once it's done to your liking, pour it into a collander to drain then put it in a large bowl and cover with your favorite sauce. Buon appetito!

Whoa honey! You gotta be more specific! There's hundreds of ways to make "pasta" & hundreds of types of pasta. I'm going to assume you mean spaghetti in a basic marinara sauce. I'd suggest on your first try just use Newman's Own sauce. when you get used to boiling the noodles & how the sauce should taste, then start experimenting with other ingredients adding to your base sauce. Soon you'll want to find a nice simple pasta cookbook to get creative with. Then it'll be all over because all you're gonna want to eat or cook will be pasta! Pasta! Pasta! Have Fun!!

You spelled it right. Bring a lot of water to a boil, salt the water (about a good Tbsp.), dump in the spaghetti (I break mine in half), bring back to a boil, time it, and stir well several times to prevent sticking. When the time's up, drain it and toss with warm sauce of choice.
Don't forget the Parmesan!

Take a big pot, fill it up with water, let it come a boil then add some salt and let it boil again then add the pasta, then after it has been cooking for 3 minutes stir it and let it cook for 5 minutes then you pull out one strand and throw it on the fridge, if it sticks its done, then you drain it (but don't rise it) and add your sauce.

boil water after water comes to a complete boil add speghetti ,i keep stirring mine so it dont stick a small amount of butter or marg in the4 water help from sticking after you boil to desired tenderness ,drain and add sauce , when the sauce is hot you can pour over speghetti ,i have a different way of making speghetti we call it baked spegitti ,i do same thing except when after i drain i pour into a large baking pan pour sauce over and sometimes i add a can of diced tomatoes to it. top with mozzerella cheese and pepperonis and put in the oven on about 325 untill cheese is melted ,make some garlic toast and salad ,my family loves it

First, I put ground beef in skillet until turn brown before I put ground beef in the pot then I put spaghetti sauce, onion, garlic etc.. in the pot, after done complete. Last, I put water in pot until boiling before I put spaghetti in the pot until tender. After I cook then drain over kitchen sink.

For the sauce, I simply buy a canned sauce from the grocery store and jazz it up. I like to add lean ground beef, green bell peppers, yellow onions, yellow bell peppers, garlic (minced), and some oregano. It's great and easy to do.

Put it in a pot of boiling salted water with a teaspoon of oil(so it wont boil over) cook for about 10 minutes.
