That is an important question for men when you are in deep nurturing relationship.
In this day and age, when one man and one woman devote their lives to each other, it is crucial for men to know that there is only one man in the world for his woman. It extends to sexual relationship. Men are forbidden and discouraged to have more than one wife, unlike the medival times. Meeting a woman with entire committment to him sexually means a lot to a man.
Virginity is a part of committment and it is special when it is given up to someone special. Men know whether women are lying or not when it comes to virginity. For men and as well as women, this thought should help to rethink about sexual relationship.

I never did. If you feel intensely enough about someone to have sex, I'm not sure why it would interest you. It's like a depression-era story I heard where the mother asked who wanted dessert. One of the children asked, "What's for dessert?" and the mother answered, "If you have to ask, you're already full and may leave the table." I suggest that you do the same. "If you have to ask, you aren't that interested in me. In which case it doesn't matter, because YOU'RE not getting it." Face it, you don't mind the question as much as not knowing how to answer. Now you do.

TILL NOW this notion of superiority stil exists. The dominant streak. Of being superior n his woman 2be in some way less than him. Be it education, status, money or social powers... ACROSS the GLOBE, man always wnts 2 be 1up... even w.r.t/ sex.. they CANNOT digest the fact tht the girl is more sexually exprncd than him. SIMPLE.

Most men expect most women not to be virgins . So they just ask in concern . If they don't believe you they are a loser trying to run game for you to prove to them so they can lay down with you .

I think guys are sometimes looking for a certain answer, also depending on their perception of you they might think "oh she is quiet, she must be a virgin" while another guy may think "oh no she is crazy, definitely not a virgin". To some guys it is REALLY important that the woman be a virgin, so it just depends from guy to guy.

Any man that wants a virgin is afraid of criticism. If he does not want a virgin he just doesn't like hard work.

A lot of guys do not really want a woman who has slept around. It is just a rude, and base question. It's mostly asked by guys who do not live their, lives or their relationships, by the philosophy that, "If a woman gives her heart sincerely, she retains her virtue."
