Do you have regular office meetings? If not, now is the time to start. You need to sit everybody down at a table, after hours, have some brownies or something (keeps the hands busy and people don't have to look at you while they are talking). You have to start calm, stay calm, end calm. Just say you are uncomfortable with the feeling you get that you are butting into the family business. With your abilities and experience you can certainly work somewhere else. You are willing to stay, or go to a new job, whatever everybody agrees to. But once they agree, you don't want to hear any complaints or snide remarks. Make it clear that you understand if they want to go back to the way it was before you started, and you are fine with that. Maybe you'll want to add something like "I really want to help the business grow, but if we are not all on the same page I want to know now so I can get a fresh start somewhere else. I don't want any stress in the family or my marriage over this." Sometimes Moms have a lot of trouble giving up the #1 spot in their son's life, let alone giving up what they see as their spot in the family business. I can see why that would be hard for her, but you have to look out for your marriage which may mean you can't live together and still work together. Good luck.
