Well, this question is pretty vague and open ended. There are a lot of factors one needs to consider before they decide, “Hey, I’m unhealthy and I need to lose weight.” The first thing to consider is obviously how much you weight. The next thing is: What does that weight consist of? What portion is muscle? What portion is fatty tissue? What portion is bone? This sounds more complicated than it is. If you can look in the mirror and find your pelvis (the two bones just below your waist) you’re fine. You most likely don’t need to lose any weight. You may just wanna flatten your stomach or whatever and tone up a little. You can do that by changing your diet and doing ab crunches. (There are obviously other ways to see if you need to lose body fat or not, but this is a start.)
If this isn’t the case, you might still be in good shape, but for argument’s sake, we’ll say that you’re overweight. First you might wanna consider a little more aggressive exercise program. Start with some Cardio, aerobics and light weight training. Depending on your size, you might not wanna start with running because it can be hard on the knees. This will help you to achieve your desired results faster. However, I DO have to warn you that when you first start training, you might not lose any weight. In fact, you might even GAIN weight. DON’T PANIC!!! The reason being, muscle is more dense than fat so it weights more. In fact, one pound of fat is the same size as ten pounds of muscle. As you’re building muscle, you might not lose 20 pounds in a weekend, but you will be burning fat thus achieving your desired result.
To answer your question:
Nobody knows how much weight you should lose in 3 months. However, DON'T GET CAUGHT UP WITH YOUR WEIGHT!!! From the sound of it, I don't think you're looking to lose WEIGHT as much as you're looking to lose body fat. In my years of studying health and fitness, I’ve found that when people (especially younger women) wanna “lose weight”, they are actually looking to lose body fat and be sexy. Well, on your journey to get sexy and “lose weight” I can guarantee that if you do it correctly, nine times out of ten you’ll gain weight before you lose it. Don’t worry though…you’ll be as sexy as you wanna be in no time flat!!!
I hope this helps!!!
Good luck and God Bless!!!

With proper diet and exercise, a weight loss of 1-3 pounds per week should follow, so 12-36 pounds depending on how overweight you are to begin with, If you are massively overweight you will lose more the first few weeks and then settle into 1-3 pounds per week. Don't be discouraged, 1 pound a week is 52 pounds in a year and you didn't gain it overnight! You don't have a weight problem, you have an overeating problem and fixing that cures the weight over time.

Healthy weight loss is 1-2 pounds per week. In 3 months you should be able to lose up to 24 pounds.
Losing weight is a simple equation: if you burn more calories than you eat, the weight will come off. Start off by estimating how many calories you burn each day using the calorie calculator http://straighthealth.com/pages/tools/caloriecalclb.html This will give you an idea of how many calories to eat. Healthy weight loss is 1-2 pounds per week. To lose 1 pound per week you need to create a calorie deficit (burn more than you eat) of 500 calories per day. To lose 2 pounds a week, you have to double the deficit to 1000 calories per day. You can achieve this by eating less, exercising more or a combination of both.
