You can't be a lover of God and a lover of the world. Israel was a spiritual adulteress - unfaithful to God. The church is a spiritual adulteress when she is unfaithful to Christ. You can't love God and man. You must choose God's ways or man's ways. In the words of Joshua the Prophet, "Choose you this day Israel who you will serve - God or man."

it means do not let the mindset, sin and satan who is the prince of the power of the air rule your life. Jesus was a friend to publicans and sinners - He loved PEOPLE. But He did not live His life in accordance to the philosophies and sins of His day. He lived to do His Father's Will and that was the driving and motivating factor of His life. It should be ours also. We love people but we do not follow or become ensnared in the traps of satan. We live as ambassadors of a heavenly Kingdom.

im not sure, but my opininon is that it means, do not be fooled and trapped by SOCIETY, not so much the world actually. you know? i really believe that God knew about what we are living through right now, adn if we befriended society and got caught up with it, we would lose sight of him, and our religion. as many CHristians have today :(
