Direct line measurment on a map is about 6 miles. But Wan Chai is on the island and the previous " walled city " is the south eastern part of the peninsula.
The "walled city" is no more and you'll have to found some old folks to be able to tell you the approximate boundries of where it used to be.

Not need to ask for the distance. Put it this way, taking the underground (which is called the MTR in HK) from Wanchai Station to Wong Tai Sin Station, it takes about 40 mins. Then you will have to take a red mini bus which takes about 10 mins. By taxi, the entire journey takes about 30mins. For your info, Wanchai is on the HK island. Another mode of transportation is that you can take KMB Bus #101 or #111 which stops at Kowloon City.
