You need Passport and Visa.

You'll get Chinese food that isn't quite what you get in Chinese restaurants in the west. The dog is delicious!

China's a big place... climate varies.

You need a visa and passport. The food is great, better and cheaper then here in the U.S. Climate depends on which area and when you go. Try to eat there food, for breakfast try the boiled tea eggs and fried bread excellent ($2-$3)

Make sure you carry wipes, bottled water and TP with you. also some restaurants do not have restrooms. You will need to exchange your money for $Yuan$ there money is only accepted.

everybody's right, passport, it usually takes 6 weeks to get one. visa, takes at least a week to get. i got mine through expert visa services.com in chicago.if you plan to enter and exit china more than once you need a multiple entry visa. ask larry at expert visa, he'll tell you all you need to know. food, chinese i think, ha ha. much better than what you eat in the u.s. fresh and hot. and if you don't like chinese food, you can eat at mcdonald's or pizza hut or kentucky fried chicken and subway. the climate is like the u.s. in hong kong it's like florida and in beijing it's like wisconsin. if you're visiting for a month or so you can use your atm to get rmb with your check card. you don't need to bring a lot of u.s. dollars, they don't take them in china. just don't forget to tell your bank you're going to china and that you are going to use your atm card. i've been here 4 times and don't be afraid to eat the marvelous food. it is truly delicious
