Romance isn't a place, it's a state of mind & being.

The most romantic place in the world to me is wherever my husband and I are. In the grocery store, driving down the road, out to dinner, watching tv.... wherever we are, whatever we're doing... then that to me is the best place to be.

My husband and I had the chance to go all out for a wonderful honeymoon. In the end, we chose not to. We got a room at a local bed and breakfast, went out for a nice dinner along the shores of the St. Marys River in Georgia and walked along the historical streets admiring the beauty of the area.

Honestly, in my opinion, it was far more romantic and personal than any honeymoon bash I've ever heard of. I didn't want to cap off my wedding by going to some place so exotic that words can't describe. I didn't want my honeymoon to be the peak of my fairytale and then slip back into normal life. I just wanted my wedding, my honeymoon... my life, to be simple so that when my daughter grows up and asks how Mommy and Daddy got married and what it was like, she will see my eyes light up as I tell her all about my fairy tale and how it never ended.

In other words, don't let your honeymoon end up being so wonderful that when you have to go back to leading your normal life, it doesn't seem like a disappointment.

Just think of the things that interest you both. If it's sailing, surfing, boating, etc then rent a beach house on the shore in a place that you both like. It doesn't have to be Hawaii or the Bahamas, it could be the shores off North Carolina. Whatever interests you both, then that my friend, is the most romantic place to go.

My Fiance and I are in a toss up between two places for our honeymoon :

DisneyWorld in Florida -- simply because we're both kids at heart and Disney offers a LOT of special treatment to newlyweds.

But the top choice is Gatlinberg, TN. This little jewel has been a favorite family getaway for years, and was the same honeymoon spot my parents went to.

In Gatlinberg you can rent a hotel suite with a heart-shaped jacuzzi in the bedroom, with a fireplace as well as open the door to your back porch and listen to the river rush past.
And every night in Gatlinberg, you can see tiny little fireflies flitting up over the mist of the Smoky Mountains.

I can't wait... that is truly a romantic getaway!

This so depends on the choice of the couple. We all have such different preferences.

My Husband and I were in Iowa once in the dead of winter. Snow everywhere and a fabulous hot tub in our room. It was wonderful.

For a restaurant, I love a small, dark , candle lit, Italian restaurant, with wonderful wine and wonderful Italian food. The wine is Key as is a corner table.

Walking distance from the hotel room. A heated pool for a warm midnight, sexy swim together. OK , I'm getting warm here.

I could do all of this in my hometown and never have to travel far.
The travel is a real buzz killer.

I think if you can afford it, those Sandals resorts are amazingly beautiful and probably as romantic as it can get. I would love to go, except that my fiance and I are paying for our honeymoon ourselves, and just can't afford it. So we are going to the Smokey Mountains in Tennessee, and staying in an awesome cabin with jacuzzis and wonderful views. It's relaxing and beautiful and like a third of the price of those exotic beach trips. Good luck!

I think Italy is a very romantic place to be, and so is France and Greece. But if you are looking for a tropical warm place, I would suggest Bermuda or Hawaii
