Whenever i smoke weed, the first 2 or 3 hits i take, i have a coughing fit that lasts for a good 2 minuets, always happens. Then after that i can take hits and not cough. I do smoke cigs and never cough when i smoke them. I know i should probably quit, but i dont think thats guna happen any time soon. Im going to a doctor to get checked out in like a month, what should i expect to hear?

I am a heavy smoker and have been for over a year now I get the cough (at the moment I have the flu so cough ten times worse) My doctor knows about my habit and often asks how I am feeling and if I am still using it ect ect. He has said that if I stop smoking all together given a few months I wont have the obvious (bong cough) I sound like i smoke 100 cigarettes a day which i dont because I dont smoke tobacco at all. My advice is to see if the cough gets any better in the next few days if it doesnt I would go visit your doctor in case you have some sort of virus or something otherwise I would have to say (simply personal experience only) if you enjoy it and you dont have any health concerns then why not enjoy it? Obviously the cough is a concern so yeah doctors if it isnt better the next few days.

I would expect him to tell you to quit. If you are interested in quitting the cigarettes, I would highly recommend you try auriculotherapy- also called ear shock treatments. It is inexpensive, painless, and it worked for me (I smoked for 30 years, and tried quitting cold turkey, with gum, patches, and prescription drugs, all without success.) If you aren't going to give up the weed, at least quit the cigs. Take smaller hits- like pinch hits instead of bongs- but know that you are damaging your lungs either way.

There is an old joke where the patient says to the doctor "Doctor, I hurt when I do this with my hand". Then the doctor says "Then don't do that with your hand."

The doctor is going to tell you to stop smoking weed.

You may be allergic to weed and not allergic to cigarettes. You are causing yourself bronchitis or asthma.

are you kidding? The doctor will say you have to QUIT obviously. What do you think he's going to say, keep smoking until your lungs can tolerate it? You shouldn't even bother going to the doctor.
