Yes do take him to the doctor. My brother was having stomach pain(I know its not diarreah) and the doctors ran a CT scan and found he needed surgery

I could be food or a bug.

First and foremost, yes, take him to the doctor. If you have an "urgent care center" nearby it would help and be quicker and possibly cheaper than taking him to the ER. Next, they may need an X-Ray called a KUB which isn't very expensive. Pedialite, bananas and oatmeal are good things to ingest.

With diarrhea for 3 days, it seems to me that you would have taken him to the doctor by now. If you haven't, get off the computer, and get him there. If your doctor isn't open on a Saturday, try one of the "doc in a box" clinics.

He should not eat or drink any dairy products!!! That's a big No NO!!!! He should stick to liquids, mainly water and Gatorade!!! Try freezing the Gatorade for him. Its refreshing!!! Stick to crackers and bread, but he might not be hungry!!!!

It might be just a bug, but if his system doesn't straighten up by tomorrow take him to the doc: He could be dehydrating. Meanwhile, he should avoid greasy stuff and dairy.

My sister recently had a stomach bug where she had diarrhea.
It helps not to drink/eat too many milk products.
Remember BRAT for diarrhea
Bananas
Rice
Applesauce
Toast.

u shold take him to a doctor.... give him lot of fluids esp. ORS and give him soup, crackers, bananas, and dont give fatty foods coz it will be difficult to digest... if tha diarrohea occured suddenly propably it might be due to a food he as taken or due to an enteric infection probably by an organism E.coli... he should be given lot of fluid to prevent dehydration and see if he pass blood & mucous...

no dairy products @ all ...clear liquids (sprite and 7-up are OK also)
and give him a banana ... our pediatrician told us that once and we have used it every time... it causes the diarrhea to stop.
