when i minimize doccuments it usually appears on the taskbar right? and if u click on it it opens so u can use many programs at once. however, when i minimize it doesn't appear so i can only work at one program at a time. help plz coz i have lots of work to do.

I had the same problem awhile back. This can happen for a number of reasons, installing new programs in my case. I asked some of the guys at my geek forum, and was referred to Kelly's Korner for a taskbar fix VBS file. The file can be found here:

Scroll down to # 240 "Programs Aren't Minimized in the Taskbar"
Download the VBS file and double click it to run.
You'll be asked for a confirmation, say Yes.
Then reboot.
Hopefully this will restore your taskbar to it's pristine, default state.

Interesting problem... I don't understand why that would do that , but how about a work around.
Try opening a couple different programs, but don't minimize them. In fact ... maximize the windows. Then use ALT+Tab to switch between programs.
Try it ... you've got nothing to lose.
