I went to the docs with dizziness and turned out i had ear infection and urine infection, Coliform bacteria being the cause. Where could this have come from and will antibiotics completely clear it? Why does this also cause dizziness? All answers appreciated!

Antibiotics should cure it if you take the right dosage for the correct period of time, and of course the correct antibiotic(I suppose the doctors did a sensitivity test). I have no ide where the infection came from, can you think if you have been somewhere in not so hygienic conditions the past time? Dizziness is probably because of the ear infection, the ear controls your feeling of balance or dizziness. Make sure you drink a lot of water too.

Coliform Bacteria In Urine

The term coliform bacteria refers to the bacteria found in the intestine, Eschericia coli. Faeces usually contain many of these organisms. They live harmlessly in the intestine, and even contribute to the natural balance inside the vody.

However if you have these in urine and ear, it could mean that you must improve your hygiene habits... it these bacteria found their way into your bladder or urethra, be careful how you clean yourself after a bowel movement and/or wash more frequently. About the ear infection, it is good practice to wash your hands both before AND after visiting the bathroom.

In the meantime visit a doctor to see if you're improving. I don't know what the dizzyness is about, and you can ascertain with your doctor whether antibiotics on their own will be enough. I'm sorry I can't help you with that :(

Hope you get well soon!

These bacteria are all over the place, who knows where you picked it up ? Could be anywhere. BUT The A/Biotics should clear the infection if they are broad spectrum, meaning for both ear/urine infection. The reason you were dizzy is that the inner ear was probably blocked with infected matter and that puts you off balance. Hope you feel better soon. Make sure you finish the course of tablets, even if the symptoms diappear. Good Health.

Hi! coliforms come from human waste. So, if that's the case you probably had contact with it either through contaminated water, or any other material. Coliforms are generally sensitive to broad-spectrum antibiotics unless you encounter a multi-drug resistant strain. Basically, based on the information that you gave, you have urinary tract infection and otitis media (infection of the middle ear). Finally, your dizziness may in part be attributed to otitis media since our ear is important no only for hearing but for maintaining balance as well.
