I care very much about what happens around me. I try to help poor people, stray and sick animals, etc, not because I have free time or money to spend, but because I can't help it. When I hear children in Africa are hungry or women imprisoned or stoned for adultery in Asia, or children molested, or baby seals skinned alive, I feel horrible. I mean it really affects me. Do I have a psychological problem or is it normal that when these horrible things happen I can't just look the other way, forget about them and enjoy myself?

It doesn't sound depressive, I'm sure we all feel like that sometimes...

Sound more likely that you are very compassionate. The difficult thing is to recognize how much you can actually impact the things that you are compassionate about...do those things and file the rest away.
