It seems I always see a question like...if it's not the way...why are so many people ______. Is converting a bunch of desperate, uneducated, hopeless people to a belief that they'll be rewarded later really that honor worthy?

Brittney Spears has more new fans then Bob Dylan....she must be better.

Dear sen.....

Horse poopey. Your religion spread throughout Asia at the point of a sword. Your religious nations choose not to allow others to practise their religions. Give it a rest.

Your loving, non-coverting, religion has been killing and converting animists in Africa for the last 3 decades with guns and amo.

You are out of line Aaron. Brittney is in a bit of trouble now...and people are still buying Bob's music.

I know that the knowledge that you represent only a small, small percentage of people and that you have completely failed at talking us into all being atheist, must be hard. Oh...and really...I have not seen much quality out of the atheist bunch no matter what their size...just a lot of hate and bashing of others. Sorry...that is how it looks to me.
But hey, we do love ya anyway.

Mankind as a WHOLE could be described as a bunch of desperate, uneducated, hopeless people - that truth certainly isn't limited to religious ranks. I can't speak to the Islamic faith, but the core of Christianity focuses on this very fact - that man is inherently flawed and sinful. It's by God's grace and His grace alone that we are saved. Nothing we can do makes us worthy of eternal salvation. Christ grants us salvation through HIS sacrifice. We merely accept that gift.

That being said, I certainly agree there is a focus on quantity over quality. Acquiring numbers is often considered above nurturing people in the faith. Many overlook the core of their religious roots. It's unfortunate, but ties back to man's nature. Should we be so surprised?

I cannot speak for Christianity because I'm not a christian. But as for Islam being a Muslim i can certainly give you my opinion. I am neither desperate, hopeless or uneducated yet i CHOSE to convert to Islam over 2 years ago. It has nothing to do with being rewarded later, its about living your life in accordance with our creators wishes. No one is guaranteed a place in heaven not even Muslims. So if you think my belief is i will be "rewarded later" you are wrong. No one said quantity was more important than quality. Quiet the reverse in Islam it is the quality in all things that is important not quantity. It matters that i give in charity with a true intention and an honest heart even if its only £5.00, not that i boast "oh i gave £5000.00 in charity" just so people would admire me and think i was generous. My intention would have been to show of to others and not really giving with a true intention. Same goes for followers if there are 1 million bad worshipers what is the good in that, Allah would sooner have 100 true worshipers with honest hearts. And that is what we as Muslims are taught, for your intentions to be true and honest ones, to do everything in life with the knowledge that Allah is all seeing and all knowing. We as a religion do not go out recruiting people or try to convert them to Islam that is not part of our faith NUMBERS do not matter. Have you ever had a muslim come to your door trying to spread the word of Islam? No of course you havent. If quantity was what was important to us would we not be out there trying to increase the number of followers?
People convert to Islam without any prompting because they read the quran and realise its the true path. If you call that saying quantity is more important than quality i seriously question where you get your information from because your sourse is sadly lacking.

Horse Poopy to you. My religion cannot be spread by the sword as to convert it has to be a submission of the heart no one can be forced to say the Shahada if it is not in there heart Allah is all seeing and all knowing. No one said a muslim never killed a person. Whats Bush's excuse for killing women and children? Dont tell me he's a muslim!
Well there are plenty of christians and jews who live and worship in muslim countries. Have you ever been to a muslim country? I think not. And Christianity and Catholisim where spread how??? Come on you give it a rest. You want to villify a religion at least do it objectivly. Name one, name them all............
Or is it just reserved for Islam, your hatred that is?

Think again. Try googling or researching, who are those who convert? Seriously, look for it. The converts, what are their jobs, their background, what the do.

Unless, you're in denial, you lie to yourself, or you're just lazy.

Peace be with you :)
