I'm thinking about going on a juice fast so that I can lose weight fairly quickly and to become happier with myself. What should my grocery list look like? I mean what kind of fruits should I get and how often should I drink juice? Can I buy already juiced juice? Will it make me hungry? Oh yeah, and would I have to exercise?

Most people who fast rebound. Fasting is a good way to get in touch with your self and your food issues; but it's an extreme cure for an extreme problem. You need to work slowly, change your diet/lifestyle, and exercise. Pretty simple.

I dont think juice fasting is a good idea because the juice gives you limited nutrients and they are full of sugar. Eat real food, jsut make sure its healthy. But if you do decide to juice fast, then you should have a variety of different flavors and juices so at least you can expand the amount of vitamins you take. Also, yes you need to exercise ,even just a little, because you cant just sit there and drink juice all day. You' wont lose any weight. Here's a good diet.

I am 13 years old, 5'4'' and 100 pounds. I am currently trying to lose about 10 pounds. This is what i do:

Breakfast- Oatmeal (about 140 calories) and Skim Milk (75 calories)
Snack- Granola Bar (100 calories)
Lunch- Sandwich and Fruit (300 calories)
Snack- 1 cup of blueberries w/ Splenda (80 calories)
Dinner- Salad with eggs, cheese, meat, a little bit of dressing and chicken breast (400 calories)
Desert- Blueberries w/ Splenda (80 calories)

Exercise- 1 hour of PE (running, exercise, stretches, etc.) and 100 crunches, 50 ups per leg, and 30 pushups at home

Well thats what im doing right now and I think it works. You should try this and you should see results in a month. I know its not really fast but its a healthy and safe way to lose weight. Also, its not really dieting because its yummy. :] I hope this works for you!

I could be wrong, but I thought that "juice fasting" is intended to be a short-term way of cleansing the body. I would be concerned, about the effect of a juice-only diet on you blood sugar level. Getting adequate protein is another problem that you need to consider.

However, if you like the benefits of the cleansing effect of the juice fasting, I'd consider "food combining". Most Americans eat combinations of foods that are guaranteed to cause digestion problems. Starches (like bread and potatoes) cannot be digested easily with proteins (like steak, eggs, and hamburger). Poorly digested food contributes to weight gain. Pavlov studied food combining, but that's been mostly ignored by academia.

The following link will provide you with details. This diet will guarantee that you feel better ("cleansed") and consequently you will loose weight rapidly. It is a healthy diet despite the "three square meals" mentality of nutritionists in this country.

Good luck on your new diet.

Exercise:

The most effective exercise for weight loss is aerobic exercise for 30 minute to an hour, 3 to 5 times per week. It doesn't matter what aerobic exercise you choose, the only requirement is that you maintain your heart rate in a range that is aerobic. (This assures plenty of oxygen reaches your body.) Check out the following link about aerobic training.

Pick an exercise that you enjoy and put into your daily schedule as a high priority item. Maintaining your health should be your most important activity. Otherwise, how can you do anything else? Respect yourself and take good care of yourself and others.
