use a different shampoo and conditioner, and make sure you condition your hair regularly leaving the conditioner in to mositurise the hair, and try not to use heat such as hairdryers, straighterners on the hair too often as this dries out the hair

I suggest that you have it trimmed or at least consider getting a new haircut. There are many styling products out there that are supposed to help damaged hair 'split-ends', 'frizz' (which can sometimes be caused by split ends). I know because I went through this too, especially after I grew out a (curly) perm and didn't want to cut it. A lot of these products provide a temporary solution to a permenant problem, and unfortunately split-ends get worse the longer you wait (trust me). Hope that helps.

YES! I know exactly where youre coming from, before I started using heat protectants for straightening/blowdrying my hair, I straightened my hair & damaged it in all ways possible: it went from smooth, silky, & healthy to damaged, rough, & dry. I also got split ends on almost every one of my hairs, lol. I spent half a year experimenting with ALL DIFFERENT KINDS of hair treatments, I tried expensive deep conditioning treatments & back to basics & all different types, but none of them worked. Then, my mother bought me vo5 hot oil treatments. My hair LOOKED AMAZING after the FIRST TREATMENT.
The treatment comes in either a little shampoo bottle thats enough for 2-4 weekly treatments, or little tubes that are enough for 2 weekly treatments. If you purchase the tubes, you have to drop them in a cup of hot, NOT BOILING, water for a minute before using. I used them 2 times a week: sunday night & thursday night. First, you have to wet your hair, then apply the hot oil, keep it on for a minute, rinse it out, then shampoo/condition as you normally do. After one treatment, I saw results. I had less split ends & my hair was a lot smoother! I highly recommend you try it!

Damaged hair is often very dry and hence it requires moisture and needs to be conditioned to gain back its softness and shine. You should massage your hair and scalp daily with olive or almond oil. Wash it off in the morning. You will see the results instantly but make sure that you wash off all the oil in the morning.

Frequent trims...and cholesterol cream and your hair will be healthy again in no time. Try to let air dry as much as possible and don't use any chemicals on it.
