Let the Bible answer this
Hebrews 13:4 "Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but mongers and erers God will judge."

There has been a lot said about abstaining from sex until marriage. There is no absolute right or wrong answer. It really is about what works for you in the situation and thus it really is for you to decide "for you" whether sex before marriage is something that works for YOU.
Sex was invented for more reasons than procreation and for marriage. Sex relieves tension and stress. It can help intimacy and so on. If it were just for procreation, does that mean after someone is done having kids they should quit or ignore that part of their body? Now days you can have a child without having sex. So I believe that lends itself to redefining.
If we are talking about abstinence. The real thing to abstain from is the belief that sex outside of love will bring you any real fulfillment. Loveless sex becomes addictive because we are trying to fill a void which only LOVE can fill.

No, it a bad thing. Like with a car you should always take a test drive before you buy it, you should do the same with your spouse to be, you know to make sure all the parts fit right, if you get my drift? Part of the reason Christians have a higher divorce rate is because they wait until after they are married to see if they are compatible.

Now I've done both the car buying and the marriage thing...at least cars can be modified, people cannot; and it's a lot cheaper to sell a car than to get a divorce. If you care at all about being happy in life, you will make sure you are compatible before you enter into a life long contract. Otherwise you have a good chance you will end up in divorce.

As christians, yes. As a pagan, no. I couldn't see spending my life with someone without knowing if we were sexually compatible. Sure the bible says that sex is for procreation, but in this day and age, we are a little more in tuned with our bodies and relationships than we were 1700 years ago when men just used women as baby making machines. Sex is an important part of a marriage. You can't go through your life without having that intimacy if you are in a loving relationship. To me, having sex with my husband was a good thing, it proved that not only were we compatible as people, but on a physical and spiritual level too.

I think it is better to make sure you are sexually compatible before marriage, but I don't mean by sleeping around. Why is it so different having sex after you have said your vows? As long as you are in a committed & loving relationship I don't see that there is anything wrong with sex before marriage.

I have mixed feelings.
In a way, I am for no sex before marriage but at the same time I want it.

No, a bad thing. You are not emotionally ready for marriage until you are 45, at least. Sex as a late teenager is great. Your body is as strong and limber as it will ever be. So yes to sex before marriage.

Difficult to know without having experienced both. I would say it would be a little risky as if you married someone who wasn't really sexually compatible it could be a dull marriage. I'd want to test the goods before making the purchase. I just don't like when the goods have been tested by others enough to be classed as second hand.

Resisting urges near the date of the marriage makes that night more special. However, lets not get crazy! Sex at 17 is fricking amazing and something that I'll never be able to experience again.
