It is a medication for the treatment of ADHD and ADD. If your doctor thinks you are ADD or ADHD will do a lot of testing and he may consider prescribing Adderall.

Nothing. It's his job to screen you by asking specific questions and talking to your parents about your behavior, etc. If you fit the ADHD profile, he'll prescribe them. If not, you're out of luck. And if he does prescribe them, you have to go back every 30 days to get a new prescription. Some docs require counseling on top of that because ADHD is psychological as well as physical. And here's a newsflash for ya: they start at the MINIMUM dose and work up to what affects you. If you act like you're on speed at 10mg, they'll know you're not ADHD and pull you off of it. Period.

Don't try to get on a prescription just because it's a legal narcotic. It can be just as bad as street drugs if you are not ADHD. Are you wanting to be a druggie already? Maybe you should talk to a psychiatrist...but not to get Adderall.

If you have been diagnosed with Attention Deficit Disorder or something similar, ask your doctor about Adderall. Unless your doctor is a real pushover, I don't think you're going to get Adderall if you haven't been diagnosed with ADHD, PDD (Autism Spectrum DIsorders) or some other ADHD related disorder.

Why do you think you need it? There are certain guidelines your doctor needs to follow before prescribing a medication, especially one like adderall. Tell him your concerns, don't make anything up just to convince him, and he will decide if it's appropriate for you.
