Cutting yourself isn't a good idea to relief your stress.
I strongly urge you to please talk with your parents or your school counselor or nurse. There are much better ways to deal with your feelings & cutting yourself won't change how you feel. Your relief is only temporary, since you still feel like hurting yourself.
So, talk to your parents, school counselor or school nurse ASAP.

Tell someone. People who have stopped cutting often say the first step is the hardest - admitting to or talking about cutting. But they also say that after they open up about it, they often feel a great sense of relief. Choose someone you trust to talk to at first (a parent, counselor, professor, doctor, or nurse). If it's too difficult to bring up the topic in person, write a note.
Identify the trouble that's triggering the cutting. Cutting is a way of reacting to emotional tension or pain. Try to figure out what feelings or situations are causing you to cut. Is it anger? Pressure to be perfect? Relationship trouble? A painful loss or trauma? Harsh criticism or mistreatment? Identify the trouble you're having, then tell someone about it. Many people have trouble figuring this part out on their own. This is where a mental health professional can be helpful.
Ask for help. Tell someone that you want help dealing with your troubles and the cutting. If the person you ask doesn't help you get the assistance you need, ask someone else.
Work on it. Most people with deep emotional pain or distress need to work with a counselor or mental health professional to sort through strong feelings, heal past hurts, and learn better ways to cope with life's stresses. One way to find a therapist or counselor is to ask at your doctor's office, the campus health center, or a mental health clinic in your community.
Experts recommend these alternatives as a way to get past the urge to cut:
rub an ice cube on your skin instead of cutting it
drink a glass of water
call a friend
take a shower
go for a walk or a run
exercise
watch TV
play with a pet
draw, scribble, or color designs on paper
cut or rip up some paper
listen to music that will shift your mood
draw on the skin with a red pen in the place you might usually cut

No, it doesn't make you bad. Many people cut, but I think it is very sad. I do understand why they do, but I think it is sad that there is help out there, and they just might not know how to find it. You really need to see a counselor and a doctor. There are better ways to deal with your issues than by cutting, and you won't have to see the scars as you get older if you use those methods as opposed to cutting. It sounds like you've had a hard time in your young life, but I really think you deserve to ask for help and not have to suffer anymore.

Since you are asking for help with this, is seems that you yourself are aware that cutting is NOT such a "great way" for you to deal with your problems and issues.
One big problem for people like you who cut is that you have convinced yourself (or a part of yourself) that cutting provides THE ONLY WAY for you to deal with your problems. This, then, becomes just like any other serious ADDICTION--exactly like the way it is for people who drink to get relief from their troubles, who wind up convincing themselves that alcohol is the ONLY way, or the best way, to get relief.
So, you need to find other, non-destructive ways to deal with your problems. If you can't figure out any alternative ways to deal with your issues, then you really need to talk to a therapist or counselor--like they say, "Two heads are better than one"--especially when your own head is pretty messed up!

You aren't bad, but what you are doing is dangerous. How trying something like a rubber band on the wrist instead? Snap it really hard when you feel the need to cut, and see if it helps some. It might, it might not, but you won't know unless you try an alternative.
Please do get some help though. These problems you speak of are not as uncommon as you think!

YOU aren't bad, but your behavior is troubling. You need to tell your mom or dad right now what you are doing. They will probably get upset about it,because they love you and don't want you to hurt yourself. Then you will get counseling or other treatment that will help you with your anxiety and phobias.
If you think it is not safe to tell a parent, then you need to go to a teacher or school counselor that you trust and tell them.
Good luck! You will want to deal with this behavior before it gets to be a terrible habit that you will regret later.

no it isn't per say bad but, ignore all these people on here who tell you other. You need professional help, if your emo thats your problem, but don't kill yourself over it. So who cares if people don't like you, **** them, doesn't matter what they think of you
Cutting only hurts yourself, i had some people i knew back in early HS who did the same thing, who were all gothic and emo and cut themselves, and its kinda messed up, just don't do it, there is no reason to
i listen to music to calm my stress from work and such, hurting urself is NOT THE ANSWER

Yep. You need to stop cutting. Cutting is a dumb idea. It doesn't relieve the right kind of stress, and what if you cut too low and killed your self? Try drawing, or writing down your feelings, it helps.

i have the same epidemic. it hurts, but i feel powerful and strong when i do that because i know i can withstand the pain. i've cried over a bloody knife, and been embarrased when my pricipal took my wristband that i used to cover the scars. i know i sound like a music geek, but find a band that has music that inspires you. ever since i started listening to MCR, i've watched my wounds heal. hope this helps...
