I would believbe him, but that doesnt guarantee hes going ot be a decent man, know what I mean?

You treat it as if he wants to be a friend, and be realistic. How much does he know about you? Do you want him as a friend? He may have only a superficial attraction to you and there's nothing wrong with that. He may feel quite a bit more and be proceeding cautiously, and for you to be open to a friendship is appropriate.

Depends on the guy's character who tell you this. If he is an honest sort, most likely it is true. Tell him your true feelings too. If he is a prankster, then tell him I am going to faint.
