Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. Love does not demand its own way. Love is not irritable, and it keeps no record of when it has been wronged. It is never glad about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.

Peace and Love

The one you have a True Love today may be the one that blows you off---then later becomes interested, but you turn away because she hurt you before---so she starts dating your available best friend which makes you want her more than ever---meanwhile another comes your way, but because of your focus on the one that you don't have--you blow her off. And, that's when the whole cycle repeats with a new dimension. This process repeats with several scenarios creating confusion and leaving you bitter & angry with the world making you undesireable to no one---and the world begins to shun & put you down for having a negative attitude and too many emotional scars to ever have a meaningful connection with anyone ever again---leaving you overwhelmed and devastated and left for dead. And that's when it happens...the peskiest one of them all--without regard for the way you look or smell or the things you said or done in the past--nudging, bugging, bothering...and, of course the licking. The licking, the licking, the licking---and when you finally find a way to look up from your dark, deathly, despair and look into the eyes of your this new being that has persistantly invited it's way into your pathetic life--you realize, at first sight, you falling in True Love with a lost dog that only wants the scraps of your meals and a place out of the cold and rain--and in return for way you treat it you gain it in return ten-fold, and without condition other than the basics--food, love, and shelter.

Forget people, get a dog instead.

That is hard to find, but would you really want it? You have to have some kind of change from the ordinary in there some time. Love as you describe is hard because it is not human nature. It would get boring. I prefer something a little more normal. It is like how democracy is great, but the US could never be a true democracy because it would fall apart. A highbred form is sometimes better.

"Hard" True Love is false. When romantic love is intense and "hurts" it is really something else, in my opinion. It is not a calm good commtiment freely given. It is a deep dark terrible search to regain what we lost or never had as small children! Someone to complete us, someone to reflect back that we are amazing, someone to be our ego twin and share all joys and sorrows equally. In other words, it is selfish, confused and a cloaked search for perfection. It does not exist. We will always be disappointed. The good newsis that lasting happy deep love IS possible but it is very different. It comes from caring, sacrifice, daily caring, patience, loving attention and fair communication. It comes with years of practice. I learned that truth the hard way too, several times, but now I know better and it is good.

Love is putting someone else's needs before your own. If you understand what it means to serve others then you know that true love isn't hard at all.

True love is hard and it has to be that way. If not, everybody would do it. We strive for perfection in an imperfect world, and that's what makes it so hard. We're not capable of making it perfect, but it's fun to try.

True love is just that-so there is no cost and true love isn't hard.
It's the challenges that life throws up that are hard but true love makes it easier to overcome them
As you say-love never gives up and true love is eternal

True love definately does not come easy, and that is why we treasure it so. I think true love takes time......often years & years, and some couples are not patient, and then sometimes its just not meant to be.

Sometimes, true love happens at a most inconvenient time.
It's hard to keep it together through difficulties, but it survives because it's true love.
