Write a dated and signed letter to The Elders, c/o .......... Kingdom Hall, .Somewheresville. Say something like:

Dear People,
I appreciate your sincerity and desire to save me from dying at Armageddon. However, there's this book called "Fearless Love, understanding today's Jehovah's Witnesses" which encourages people to be nice to you because you have a persecution complex and thrive on antagonism. I don't hate you, or even dislike you, I just want you to leave me alone.
Please add my address.......... to your "Do not call" list and ensure everyone taking the map out with my street on it knows NOT to call. Your co-operation in this matter will be greatly appreciated.
Yours sincerely........ Dated..........

If that doesn't work and they call again, get paper and pen, ask for their names and advise them that you'll be writing to their Brooklyn Headquarters. They won't linger!

The best way to learn what to do to stop JWs is to contact a synagogue and talk to the Rabbi.

Ask him how the ancient Jews got rid of the Christian Jews when they went from house to house telling their brethren that the beliefs, rituals, and holiday observances that they have followed for hundreds of years was no longer valid?

I’m sure they had ways to get rid of the members of this cult started by a lower class, uneducated Carpenter, who was executed for cause by the governing authority. These followers were also lower class, uneducated individuals, such as Peter, a failed fisherman, and Matthew, a tax collector.

Lacking any kind of education, let alone advance religious education, it was clear they were brainwashed.

Saul of Tarsus, a highly educated individual, repeatedly proved they were a false religious sect, creating their own scriptures (Bible) instead of relying on the Holy Torah, which had been used by the Jews for hundreds of years. He stood by as the true people of God stoned these so-called Christians.

So, just take a lesson from the ancient Jews. What worked for them against the Christian cult should work against the JWs.

Study the scripture and then argue it with them.

I remember once when a Jehovah's witness came up to me, twenty years ago or so, and we started talking. I started talking about the disciples carrying swords and he tried to explain that they only used swords for hunting. By the time he was finished with his explanation he understood how silly it sounded, hunting with a sword, and none of them ever came around again.

Most people do not know scripture very well, they know what other people have told them about scripture so when you know scripture better than 90% of the preachers out there, well, it is not hard to get people to quit bugging you if that is what you want.

Read the Bible 10 or 12 different times, study every word. Then you will be able to find counters to most of the silly rhetoric out there if you understand it. Also, if you are not a Christian you will probably become one once you understand scripture.

Don't know why you would worry about such a minor thing. I am not JW but have listened to them to few times, they are usually quite polite and friendly. They are only doing what they believe is their duty, providing information that you can either accept or not.

I don't believe that they would try to fool anyone, they are straight forward as to who they are and what their message is. Take it or leave it. Or don't answer the door.

Wish them good day, and tell them you have all the information you need thank you, as you close the door. I doubt if they would fool their way into your house - they have the best of intentions, even if they can be annoying!

I was a Jehovahs Witness for eighteen years...Its actually very simple...Tell them to put you on the do not call list...That is an actual list...Dont say Im busy..Not interested...come back another time...Have my own religion...we were trained for responses or at least "return visits"..When you tell them to put you on this list, it gets documented in their congregation..and you will be avoided next time they go door to door....

Just one comment regarding the idea that it's so 'cruel' for parents to take children with them to visit neighbors
to share Good News from the Bible, especially in bad weather, cold, rain etc !... o, horrors
We all know that weather doesn't stop other activities...
On Halloween (often cold) and Mardi Gras (likewise cold/rainy & potentially dangerous) kids are seen everywhere ... scrambling for 'treats' which are basically junk. Some unfortunate children have been mained/killed in the madness of the pagan celebrations, where alcohol and drugs are common. Not to mention the exposure to immorality which typifies the 'festivities'...
Yet, what JW's children are exposed to is wrong. ???
I think not...
Following Jesus' footsteps is refreshing & JW's enjoy the visits with their neighbors, because they have cultivated the LOVE Jesus said must be second only to LOVING HIM !

All you have to do is put a sign up, Saying, Please do not knock if you are a Jehovah's witness. I'm not interested in hearing the good things you want to tell me.
They would not try to trick you into letting them in.They only want to talk to people who are interested in hearing the truth.

nice things to do/say:
* say you're in the middle of something and politely apologise
* say you're not feeling too well and pretend to throw up
* say you'd love to listen to them but time is flying by and you haven't got enough time
* pretend you already what the Bible says about certain subjects

not so nice things to do/say:
* hang a sign on your front door saying "satan is the way forward!"
* before anwering the door, put ketchup around your mouth and tell them you're in the middle of dinner
* answer the door and stare at them blankly while speaking in a ghostly way
* leave the cd player/computer near the front door and before answering, put marilyn manson on really loud and suddenly open the door - that'll scare 'em!

I would go with what Sasi said - there's no need to be rude to anyone. I empathise with your plea for a star because you have certainly got loads of answers. So, from me to you, one star coming up.
